CEDU  Presents the  FEOR-2

As seen for the first time at the DEMA 2002 Rebreather Party *

Yes, the CEDU is taking the next step.  The FEOR is starting to "mix it up" with the "big hot gasses".   With the addition of a diluent tank, borrowed from a FENZY BC, and incorporating two oxygen sensor/display units, the FEOR is now converted into a Manual Control Mixed Gas Rebreather.   The start of its' first test dive, shown above, to a max depth of 4 atm was uneventful.  (All systems worked well, even the mouthpiece whose tie-tie was omitted.  Oops!)

With  2- Hoses,  2- Counterlungs, 2- Tanks, and 2 1/2 Pounds of CO2 Absorbent
It's  2- Much Fun for Open Water One !

The first test dive of this FEOR modification was at the Casino Point Dive Park, Catalina Is.  (The weekend was a blast by the way.   In addition to test diving my latest FEOR, I put a few rounds down on the Island's shooting range, breaking in a PT-145, and completed a 3 mile swim, the Catalina Roughwater Classic,  where I out swam my friend for the very first time!  A great weekend.)

As mentioned above, the unit worked well in my hands. This first "leak test" (test dive) of the unit was virtually flawless.  Other than forgetting to cable tie the mouthpiece onto the bite block of the Clearview DSV, all systems were full systems capable and operationally ready.

The dive was beautiful.  Water temperature in the mid to upper 60's at the surface was fine for swimming, but it got a bit cooler at depth dropping below 60 degrees at about 60-70 fsw.  The fauna and flora were worth the ride.  Most of the dive I was surrounded by a school of bait fish, of  which the picture below does not do the experience justice.  It was awesome!

(I guess it was a little cool down there.)

Any unit that brings them back alive is a good unit.  Again, the FEOR in it's latest configuration, brought me back, so now I can tell you about it.   (You are so lucky.)

*  P.S. There were two rebreather parties at DEMA this year.  The party pool side at the Glass Pool Inn hosted by "OSS, CEDU (not Seadoo Patrick), and Spy Lab",  had units displayed. (Tom Rose showed two units, Gordon Smith brought one, and I showed two.  There will be other publications of the Rebreather party and the DEMA show that will be published by myself and others I am sure.  Please stay tuned.)

P.S. The usual disclaimer stands:   Please don't try this at home.  Building and diving these devices can be fatal.  There are those more talanted than you and I who have perished using rebreathers that are engineered and manufactured much better than what is presented here for this public viewing and entertainment.
