Crestline Experimental Dive Unit
Proudly Presents
The
FEOR Training Class 2000/1
The First Class of the Millennium
Though unable to attend the 2000 Rebreather Party, members
of the CEDU were able to recruit prospective applicants at other
venues.
The Field Expedient Oxygen Rebreather (FEOR) Familiarization Dive and
Prospective Member Evaluation, was conducted at the CEDU Desert Training
Facility
(aka, the Circus Circus swimming pool) on Friday morning.
The applicants paid close attention to the thorough pre-dive lecture on
the theory of operation,
and were amazed at the utter complexity of the unit.
They were proud to successfully break-down and re-assemble the unit,
using most all of the parts provided. (Well the important ones anyway.)
Surface dip-test of student and unit
preceded the intense under-water performance evaluation.
Here a student is reminded to keep the DSV in his mouth.
Underwater performance skills included hands free operation, buoyancy control,
and complex neuro-motor skills including
breathing-in-and-breathing-out without referring to notes.
All tasks were successfully accomplished.
Congratulations to the Class of 2000.
And a special Thank You to our Staff
Ron and Erick
for your assistance in yet another,
True Blue Operation.

[Typical disclaimer: Don't do anything stupid like kill yourself with home
made dive gear, then go around and tell people that I said you can do it.
You can't do it unless you already have!]
