of the
1999 Rebreather Party (and DEMA)
Brought to you by the
Crestline Experimental Dive Unit
--------------------------------------------------------------
Peter Readey brought the new Prism Topaz and a mk-15 to the party.
The Topaz had many nice improvements. ('Another unit I would love to have.)

(I think Matt found his true Love.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not at the Rebreather Party, but some photos taken from the DEMA show are the new LAR V, the new Draeger (not named at this time), the CCR2000, the current Halcyon, and the CCR Gator.

.
(I did not get a picture of the Cochran unit. Cis-Lunar and BMI did not have a booth..)

And now, ...last but not least, ...the Talk of the Rebreather Party....
The Crestline Experimental Dive Unit
Presents the
Field Expedient Oxygen Rebreathr
(F.E.O.R.)

"Thirty minutes from Home Depot to Covert Operations"

The FEOR is a home made closed circuit oxygen rebreather. The construction of which is one of the many entrance requirements of the CEDU. (We all must jump through some hoops to get "one of these things".)

Two operational units were brought to the Rebreather Party. (The FEOR includes two horseshoe shaped counterlungs: inhale & exhale lung, a 600 gm scrubber bed, and 1.1 cubic feet of O2.)

Most everyone just had to check out the cool units.

(Sorry for the double exposure.)

Some examined the units with Intense scrutiny.

Others had no clue
.

But overall, everyone enjoyed what was whipped up in a few weeks. (My hobby shop just received some new toys including a lathe and mill. I finally can make O-Ring grooves! :-)

Certification Dive
On the day prior to the Party a new member joined the ranks of the CEDU, successfully passing the High Altitude training, in the 10th floor pool of the Holiday Inn, French Quarter.

Congratulations #0034. (Learning the secret rebreather handshake.)

(Other testing programs including the "Deep Oxygen Course" lie ahead.)
