Remembering:
Dr. Lambertsen, Maritime Unit, OSS, Instructing Petty Officer John Spence,
USN in the LARU (Lambertsen Amphibious Respiratory Unit). Then they instructed
Navy Officer Jack Taylor, DDS. Observing this second training of a Navy officer
was Maritime Section Chief, Commander HGA Wooley, British Royal Navy. (In
Attendence was Hank Weldon, Last of the Operational Swimmer Group of the
Maritime Unit/OSS)
Franklyn D Roosevelt Park Pool: (Dr. Iannello acting as Dr.
Lambertsen instructed first swimmers on use of Closed Circuit Oxygen Rebreathers
using his self constructed FEOR, (Field Expedient Oxygen Rebreathers)
(Actual instruction and successful swims with these closed circuit units took
place with students never having experience with closed circuit equipment. )
