            Small boat boarding and assault is technically difficult.  It should only be undertaken by mentally and physically fit individuals who are rigorously trained and properly equipped.   In addition, integral coordination with  supporting units and command elements is needed to ensure a successful operation.

            Such basic skills as hand-to-hand engagements are first taught in the classroom, then reviewed on the surface of the pool before underwater work commences.           Training with the equipment they will use is a must.
