" Attack From The Sea "
A swimmer "laying-in-wait" is seen preparing for an assault on a vessel at anchor.
If the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not end WW2, it was discovered that Japan actually had planned on using kamikaze "divers-in-wait" in a last ditch defense against the imminent American invasion.
These kamikaze combat swimmers (called Fukuryu - human mine), using closed circuit oxygen equipment, sheltered within underwater bunkers for extended periods of time, planned to swim up to hulls of inbound landing craft and assault ships after the initial shore bombardment. The mission was to detonate their explosive charges upon contact with the ships hull, in final defense of the Japanese mainland.
The CEDU has the capability to simulate these, and other small unit threats for training purposes. Call the CEDU for assistance in your small unit tactical waterborne operational needs.
